About this topic
The inspiration for using webinars to enhance student services came from our personal experiences in school counseling. In Fall 2013, Andrew helped organize an informational event for parents at the high school where he interned. Despite mediocre turnout at the event, in the following week, Andrew fielded multiple calls from caring parents wanting to know what they had missed at the event and how they could better help their students. This experience reflected many that Clare had also had as a school counselor, in which committed parents and guardians were unable to attend informational school events, but called, emailed, or requested individual meetings with their school counselor to learn about information presented at the event.
Andrew and Clare began to consider how school counselors could use technology to distribute information to multiple stakeholders at once, thus freeing up more time during the day to work with students in need. The resulting product is Creating and Tracking Webinars.
